Ralph Lauren's Pink Pony Bloggers Unite for Cancer

When I heard about Ralph Lauren’s Pink Pony campaign to fight cancer, I knew right away that I wanted to participate and help spread the word. Ralph Lauren and Polo Ralph Lauren have been dedicated in the fight against breast cancer for over 20 years. Ralph Lauren has designated his polo player icon to the Pink Pony campaign, creating a special version of the pink ribbon. Not only is the campaign focused on breast cancer, but has now expanded to include other cancers. The mission of Pink Pony is unique in that it addresses the needs of the medically undeserved. Over the years, it has really helped bring quality cancer care, access to cancer care, and early detection for those who need it most. Check out the online auction occurring all throughout the month of October on Charitybuzz.com.
100% of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Pink Pony fund.

And text PINKPONY to 501501 to automatically donate $10.

Thank you so much to everyone at Ralph Lauren for choosing me to be a part of this great endeavor!

Free People October 2010 Catalog Preview

Here is just a sneak peek into my Free People October Catalog shoot! The clothes were wonderful. So many chunky knits as well as lightweight pieces that together, create a dreamy and bohemian vibe. I fell in love with all the October catalog pieces and they can be previewed here!
The second collage is filled with fun, behind the scenes, photos taken during the shoot in Philadelphia. Snapshots of everything from hair and makeup, lunch, to final photo review! The catalog will also be featuring Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast as well as Georgia Larsen from Dora's Fur! Two amazing ladies with rockin fashion blogs.
Also, check out my video! All my photos in the catalog were shot by my sister Dylana, who you probably know from Nana in Wonderland. Enjoy! The catalog will be out October 5th (online or in your mailbox!)

Here are some images of me for Joe's Jeans Holiday 2010! All photos shot by Jiro Schneider! A lot of light cottons and skin tight denim. All a little riskay...

Just like a Gypsy

(H&M top, Vintage skirt, Cole Haan boots, Il Bisonte bag)

I'm sporting long skirts a lot more often now and have been scouring thrift stores trying to them. I stumbled upon this vintage one over on Fairfax. I like the gypsy/amish feel of it. It's even got little bells on it so I can hear a tiny jingle every time I walk! And I realized long flowing skirts are so much more comfortable and give me the freedom to move around more than the tight minis that used to grace the runways. Plus, no Britney underwear disasters in sight. It reminds me of the one I saw on a girl in New York riding a bicycle. I wish I could have snapped a photo of her for my blog! Long skirts and bikes are magical. Now, all I need is to jump on a bike and cruise on outta here :)

Btw, I stumbled upon a photo of me in the October issue of Lucky magazine featuring my Delvaux bag! Who knew the Belgian designer label is going to be selling in the States?!

NOTE: To all my International readers, please let me know if you cannot see the images in my posts below. Tinypic is not showing up in some countries today, so let me know if you can or cannot see the images in the posts below! Thanks! I'll try to work something out if you can't!

What I'd Wear Spring '11

I've been browsing Style.com for ages this morning and I stumbled upon two collections that I adore! They are complete opposites from one another, but scream CHIC CHIC CHIC!

First off, there is Acne (a word I'd normally cringe upon as thoughts of adolescence and awkwardness run through my mind). But now I can only associate the word with the simplistic, sheer, shouldbeworneveryday clothing that I'm dying to have in my closet this coming Spring. I love the dark colors and loose fits. Now you see kiddos, there is nothing wrong with having acne! I kid. I kid.

Now on a brighter note, there is Rebecca Taylor, my new designer girl crush. I'm lusting over the loud colorful prints that work well in soft flowing fabrics. This collection showcases the comeback of the long maxi dress perfectly. And once again, it shows that anything high waisted works! I think I'm in love...

Dressed for Comfort

(Vintage blouse and trousers, Naya shoes, Il Bisonte bag)

Lately, I've been leaning towards loose menswear inspired pieces of clothing. I like how they fall on my body. I've never been a huge fan of really tight items of clothing due to my long and scrawny frame. This is one of my favorite looks: a vintage Italian blouse along with a pair of trousers I found at the Goodwill in Santa Barbara. They were only 99 cents! Funny how the cheapest items in my closet are always my favorite. The shoes are straight out of the new collection of Naya Shoes, of which I am a huge fan of. All their products are eco-friendly, made with all natural materials and soft supple leather. I love how these labels like Naya can do good for the environment and still come out with incredible, fashion forward products. Believe it or not, these heels are also so soft and squishy thanks to their cushioning. I love them for work and castings, where I have to run around in heels all day. I've learned from experience, uncomfortable shoes suck and completely spoil my day. I'm telling you, get your hands on a pair of Naya's now and view their campaign video with the gorgeous Julia Dunstall here! I am kind of obsessed. Your feet will thank you.

And of course I've gotta give you a dose of random pretty photos! Makes me really want to take a long trip outdoors, to the middle of nowhere...

(Stylestalker dress, Cole Haan Boots)

I went bananas when I spotted this Stylestalker dress. It's got the cutest cut-out back and the most perfect length. Not too long, but not too short. Just right with my favorite flat boots. I can already see that the long maxi dress is huge on the S/S '11 runways! Thought I'd jump on the bandwagon now! It is pretty warm here at home so I am still leaning towards Spring/Summer pieces. I am really looking forward to Fall though! I'm dying for more overcast weather and a cool breeze. My latest buys are some Jill Stuart trousers and a huge nubby cardigan. Can't wait to sport them in the coming months!

Also, thank you so much for all the comments on my video! You guys makes me want to sing and put more stuff on here! And yes, I do accept song requests! So anything, let me know, that you think would suit my voice, and I'll try and work out a version for you!

As for now, I'll be hitting the books. Studying, studying, studying for the next week. Trying to catch up on all the latest Fashion week news at the same time. I did get some exciting invites for Milan fashion week, but there's just no time b/w work and school at the moment. Next season though, I'ma hit them up! Right now, just looking forward to a road trip up to the Bay Area with my best friend next weekend. We're stoked!

(Ramona West Vintage Blouse, Vintage shorts and belt, Bally Bag, Cole Haan Boots)

I am so happy it's the weekend! Finally, some time to just be around the house, catching up on reading and studying. Spent this past week finishing up the Volcom shoot down in the OC! I finally got a hold of the catalog that's out right now! There are some really cool shots. I'll post them soon! It was pretty awesome walking into the Volcom headquarters and seeing a big poster of my face staring back at me. Took a little snapshot with it!

I love how overcast this week was, but looks like things are really clearing up! This is what I wore yesterday running errands around the Westside, visiting my agency and grabbing lunch on 3rd street Promenade. Just kept things really casual and simple! I never really feel like dressing up or wearing any makeup on my days off.

And remember how I said, I would make another little music video for you guys? Well, I took one earlier this month! I'm singing "I Never" by Rilo Kiley, one of my favorite songs. I'm currently playing around and working on my own stuff as well. Hope you like the vid! :)

Striped Out

(StyleSofia shirt and ring, Vintage shorts and belt, Cole Haan boots)

I kind of feel like my elementary school self with a messy side braid, bold horizontal stripes, and light washed denim. Bringing it all back, but in a different way. I never thought stripes and sheer could work, but Stylesofia proved me wrong with their new shirt. It's quite the perfect combination! And these slide on Cole Haan boots are my favorite right now. They're so comfortable and look good with everything. I see myself living in them for the rest of this Fall!

Speaking of which, I have so much going on this semester. Exams are already coming up this week! Working and school has kinda thrown my schedule all over the place, but I'm enjoying being busy. I'm working on time management and I've been keeping together so far. This past week I've been shooting Volcom Spring/Summer 2011! I pretty much got to frolick on the beach all day in really cool laidback looks. We're going to finish up shooting this week. They're one of my favorite brands to work with. So low key and fun! I'm in their latest catalog right now, but still haven't got my hands on a copy yet! Once I do, I'll try to get some images up for ya'll.

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Labor Day weekend! So nice to get a day off to do absolutely nothing right? But we all gotta get back to work sometime! Thought I'd throw in a little inspiration :)

(Stylestalker Skirt, City of Dolls crop top, Forever 21 blazer, Via Spiga shoes, Forever 21 and vintage rings)

I was sifting through my drawers and pulled out this amazing Stylestalker "Tentacle" skirt coming straight out of their latest collection. I love the wrapped detail and slender fit. The print really gives off a very cool surfer vibe, but with a darker edge to it. Stylestalker is my go-to Australian label that offers adorable yet sophisticated bodycon pieces of great quality. (I'm pretty excited to meet up with the designers again when they come visit LA this month!) This skirt in particular stood out to me and really brought me back to the dark, sultry, slightly gothic feel of the Proenza Schouler Fall collection. I had some fun playing around with pieces in my wardrobe that really had the feel of Proenza's collection.

Not only have I been currently swooning over dark, mysterious Proenza attire, but leaning over to the the soft girliness of designer Vanessa Bruno. This video featuring French style icon, Lou Doillon, is absolutely beautiful. There really is no other word to describe it better. This video inspires me to release my inner ballerina in flowing fabrics and pastel shades this Fall! And the choice of music was perfect! I am now a huge fan of (Chilly) Gonzales. "Overnight" is one of my favorite songs to listen to before going to bed. It's so calming! Hope you enjoy the video as much as I do!
